Just wanted to share this with all the mini enthusiasts out there. This is a Mini Cooper s (R53) with CAI and custom Magnaflow exhaust, I bought the muffler number 11366 because it is the shortest one (11", against 14" of most of the other magnaflows) and will fit the space where the OEM "ball" was. The piping job was done in a local shop and I also bought the tips there. I wanted to put a performance exhaust on the mini without spending the $800-$1000 dollars necessary for the common "cat-back" exhausts on the market, so I decided to buy the muffler and have a muffler shop make the custom tubing. The whole thing cost me around $270 dollars, and I´m satisfied with the result, it is quiet at idle and the noise levels are comfortable inside the cabin if you drive normally. I didn´t want one of those really loud/fart exhausts but something that will sound good and racing-like when you step on the gas. The CAI is a GREEN filter with a heat shield I made. UPDATE(Dec. 2009): installed 15% pulley and ALTA intercooler diverter, definitely feels different and the SC sounds louder. I will be posting a video soon.
2005 Mini Cooper S with: Alta exhaust, Alta 15% reduced pulley, Alta 2% oversized crank pulley, Alta V2 intercooler, K&N cold air intake, Crower NS1 cam, Bosch 550cc injectors and Mynes tuning. Pulled 180.7 hp base map with mods and 200.2 after a Mynes tune. Mynes tune did and awesome job with the dyno runs and tune up and ABF Tech Division with the cam and injector install.
